Snow White: A Holiday Course With a Fresh Twist

1st April 2025

At Perform, we love diving into classic tales and giving them our own unique spin. This year, our Easter holiday course will feature a brand-new adaptation of Snow White a timeless story that has captivated generations. It just so happens that our production will coincide with Disney's much-anticipated live-action Snow White film. As a lifelong Disney fan (especially when it comes to their musicals), this is an exciting moment for me. In fact, I was lucky enough to see the legendary composer Alan Menken live at the Palladium last Sunday, where he took us on a journey through his incredible career and perform some of his most iconic songs in musical history.

But while Disney's version is undoubtedly inspiring, we wanted to make our own mark on Snow White one that resonates with our young audience of 4-10-year-olds. Fairy tales, legends, and myths have always been fluid, evolving over time to reflect the values and expectations of each generation. When we set out to create our own version, we felt that the ending needed a bit of a revamp for today's audience.

So, here's our Snow White spoiler alert: there is no handsome prince riding in to save the day. Instead, it's the power of teamwork that breaks the spell. In our version, it's Snow White's seven friends, each with their own special skill, who come together at the crucial moment, working as a team to melt the sleeping spell that has been placed upon her. We wanted to emphasize collaboration, friendship, and the idea that true magic happens when people support each other.

This fresh take on Snow White keeps the essence of the original story while celebrating the values we believe in at Perform: confidence, communication, and teamwork. We can't wait for children to step into this magical world over Easter with three days of singing, dancing, acting and arts and crafts.

So, whether your child is a fairy tale enthusiast, a Disney fan, or just someone who loves a great adventure, we'd love to see them join us for this exciting holiday course.
