Your child's journey with Perform is an exciting adventure of growth, learning and fun. Along the way, they'll gain confidence, make new friends and develop essential life skills like concentration, communication and coordination - all while enjoying the magic of performing arts. Find out about your child's journey through Perform from 4 years old to 12.
The first Perform class. Your child is a bit nervous and tearful when it comes to say goodbye - and so are you to be honest. Luckily, Rebecca (the Producer) and Sophie (the teacher) are absolutely wonderful. Sophie instantly makes friends with him and distracts him with a joke.
Once they're in the room, they soon start laughing and joining in energetically while you tell Rebecca all about their likes and dislikes. This is definitely the start of something new.
They now can't wait for their weekly Perform class. You've never seen them so animated and happy as when they comes rushing out at the end of the session. You really saw a difference in the way they confidently stood up and spoke their lines at the school assembly last week.
They would never have done that before. Plus they've already made a couple of really good friends in the class.
Your child is now well-established in the class. They confidently help the younger children while still learning themselves.
At school, their teacher has commented on how pleased she is that they're putting their hand up lots, volunteering ideas. Their concentration on reading and writing tasks is brilliant too! They're also doing well in games and there has been a marked improvement in their coordination. Must be all that dancing!
At the end of term performance, you're so proud when you see your child speak their lines and sing the solo with such conviction in front of all the other parents. They would never have done so just a few years ago.
Next term, they are going up to the classes for 7-12s and they're really excited. Apparently, "They do proper shows and everything!"
From the very first class, it's clear that your child is being challenged in a different way, working with a real professional director and choreographer.
The Producer, Mike, is really friendly and, while your child rushes off for the acting section, Mike explains to you how the performing arts techniques they teach are really for life: concentration and memory skills for the classroom, eye contact and vocabulary for social situations and agility for sports.
You're already seeing a real difference in your child. At home, they take an active part in discussions around the dinner table and their teachers comment on how much better their concentration is at school.
You think that much of this is down to their Perform classes, in particular, the teachers. You can tell that they're all fired up and inspired by the creative team at Perform. And they're very excited by their role in the end of term show - they promise it's going to be brilliant and to invite everyone you know!
Your child is enjoying the classes so much that they don't realise how much they're learning.
They relish the class so much that their teacher has nominated them for another Challenge Award. They've already been awarded a Ruby and a Sapphire - and they're now intent on winning the highest accolade - a Diamond Challenge Award!
Your friends are always commenting on how friendly and outgoing your child is and you can't help thinking it must have a lot to do with their time at Perform. Over the years, they've had such a lot of enjoyment and having achieved the Diamond Challenge Award - it's all lead to a real confidence boost.
When they where younger, you would never have envisioned them being able to take a lead role in an end of term production - let alone relish it!
Your child is still loving their weekly sessions at Perform and it's great to receive such glowing feedback from the creative team every term. Their character has blossomed, they've got loads of great friends and their teachers are delighted with their progress at school.
Confidence, self-assurance, good diction, physical agility, great interpersonal abilities - all these (and many more!) are skills that your child has developed during their years at Perform. So whatever they chooses to do, you'll know they'll be a success.
