Mermaids & Pirates

From April, Perform children will be setting sail on the good ship Jammy Dodger to discover faraway lands. They'll meet a galley of seafaring characters on their swashbuckling quest to find the Sacred Coconut, including the notorious Seasick Pirate, singing parrot Rita Conchita and a mermaid on a mission.

Our weekly workshops for 4–7 year olds are run by an expert team who create an exciting space for imaginations to run free. There’s nothing like a mix of calypso, rhythm and song to help confidence soar and concentration improve. It's no wonder children can't wait for our classes each week!

As well as weekly fun, there’s a sticker poster, an album of songs and stories, an accompanying app and a special script to help your child rehearse for the fabulous end of term performance. For a sneak preview of the summer term's songs and dances, click on one of the videos below.

Mermaids & Pirates live summer show!

Throughout July and August, a professional cast will bring Mermaids & Pirates to life live on stage as part of our Perform in the Park summer festival. This means that your child can see the songs and dances they've been learning throughout the term performed on stage! Mermaids & Pirates is a one-hour musical packed full of calypso-infused songs, salsa-inspired dancing and laugh-out-loud humour. BOOK NOW.

Perform in the Park is taking place in a 500 seat pop-up theatre in Coram's Fields, Bloomsbury. As well as Mermaids & Pirates, there are lots of other productions to book, lawns for picnics, playgrounds, sandpits and a paddling pool - it's set to be a great summer day out! Find out more.

Each term, there is a specially produced, themed album packed full of songs, dances and stories to enjoy at home. In the Mermaids & Pirates Album, children can prepare for their upcoming quest with Seasick Pirate, Coconut Calypso and X Marks the Spot in this swashbuckling sensation.

Oh Arrrrgh! Set sail on the good ship Jammy Dodger and discover faraway lands with the Perform Mermaids & Pirates app. Children will enjoy challenging their coordination and concentration in Plank Peril and Mermaid Lagoon, improving their numeracy in Pieces Of Eight and boosting their problem-solving abilities in Treasure Seeker. They can also enjoy a selection of colourful videos featuring Mermaids & Pirates-inspired songs, dances, poems and tongue-twisters to watch and join in with at home.

FREE Rita Conchita toy for every child at the end of term

Throughout the term, Rita Conchita will join in with the fun during class time once we arrive on Treasure Island.

At the end of term, every child who performs in our show will go home with their very own Rita Conchita toy as a cuddly reminder of the swishy-swashbuckling fun they have had.

Mermaids & Pirates script pack

Every child will receive a special Mermaids & Pirates script pack which contains all the lines and lyrics so your child can practise their part at home. It also includes the full musical score for every song and costume inspiration so your child can look their best in the show.
