Exploring Ancient Egypt

An awe-inspiring journey back to the dawn of civilisation in which the children discover what they can learn about ancient Egypt from archaeological studies today.

  • A structured account about life in ancient Egypt
  • Egyptian tombs, pyramids and burial sites
  • Using sources to deduce facts about Egyptian society, ways of life and religious beliefs

  • To recognise the achievements of an early civilization
  • To explore how the Ancient Egyptians influenced the western world


Black History Icons

The children will be taken on a journey through Black History and come face to face with iconic figures that have devoted their lives to giving the black population equal rights.

  • Learn about Mary Seacole and how she was rejected because of her race
  • Use drama techniques, supported by music, to understand the lives of Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King
  • Bring to life characters such as Rosa Parks and improvise scenes from the day of the bus boycott

  • To reinforce the idea that diversity should be celebrated


World Explorers

Come on a journey with us around the globe, and beyond, to meet some of the most iconic explorers of our time!

  • Be introduced to a number of iconic explorers and learn why their discoveries helped shape history
  • Recreate the story of Christopher Columbus and his discovery of America through drama techniques, such as freeze-frame and role play
  • Learn the Sir Francis Drake rap
  • Create an advert to help recruit explorers to join the 1953 expedition to climb Mount Everest, led by explorer, Sir Edmund Hillary
  • Partake in role play conversations between Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin

Influential Women

This positive workshop celebrates the work of women from the past and present who have had a significant influence on those around them.

  • Use freeze frames to explore the work of Emmeline Pankhurst and the UK women's suffrage movement
  • Take part in telling the story of Rosa Parks and the bus boycotts
  • Devise role play to consider important women of the present day and how they influence others

  • To recognise influential women throughout history
