Splash! A Deep Sea Adventure

Embark on an unforgettable deep sea drama experience!

From January to April 2025, we are excited to offer FREE performing arts-based workshops to selected primary schools.

Each 25-minute workshop is led by a professionally trained, DBS-checked actor/drama teacher who will appear in character to guide students through an ocean of imaginative and educational activities.

This educational workshop combines exciting adventures with deep-sea learning for Reception, Year 1, 2 and 3 students. Each group engages in age-appropriate activities that support key learning objectives across the English, Science and PSHE national curriculums.

Reception: Discover and Play Under the Sea

Embark on a sea adventure with our Deep Sea Diver and explore the ocean's magic!

Activities Include:

  • Meet the Sea Creatures: Discover the roles of Starfish, Octopus and Clownfish
  • Interactive Games: Participate in sea-themed movement games and character commands
  • Adventure Time: Help search for the Pearl of the Ocean and enjoy a special sing-along

Curriculum Focus:

  • English: Enhance speaking and listening skills through imaginative storytelling and role-playing as sea creatures
  • Science: Learn about marine habitats and the roles of different sea creatures in the ecosystem
  • PSHE: Develop empathy and teamwork by collaborating in group activities and adventures

Year 1: Explore the Ocean's Secrets

Join our Deep Sea Diver on an educational quest to uncover the mysteries of the deep!

Activities Include:

  • Ocean Exploration: Learn about the major oceans and their creatures
  • Sea Creature Commands: Practice actions and commands related to different marine animals
  • Rescue Mission: Assist in locating the missing Pearl of the Ocean and meet Smelly Fish Jelly Fish in a fun rap

Curriculum Focus:

  • English: Foster communication skills through storytelling, character exploration and group performances
  • Science: Understand the five major oceans, their habitats and marine life adaptations
  • PSHE: Promote environmental awareness and collaborative problem-solving through fun, interactive activities

Year 2/3: Dive into Ocean Conservation

Take on a deeper challenge with our Deep Sea Diver and learn about ocean conservation and plastic pollution.

Activities Include:

  • Ocean Conservation: Understand the role of oceans in our lives and the threats they face
  • Octopus Freeze Frames: Create freeze frames to represent various sea creatures.
  • Dive Signals: Learn and use dive signals for effective communication during underwater exploration
  • Rescue and Reflect: Retrieve the Pearl of the Ocean and discuss ways to help protect marine environments

Curriculum Focus:

  • English: Engage in role-play and dialogue to express ideas and collaborate on creative projects
  • Science: Investigate the impact of plastic pollution on marine ecosystems and the importance of ocean conservation
  • PSHE: Explore how individual actions can make a difference in protecting our oceans and promoting environmental sustainability
